We are excited to announce that Rocky Knoll Health Care Center has been selected to receive temporary staffing assistance from the Wisconsin National Guard to relieve local hospitals and provide short term rehabilitation for patients

On January 13, 2022, Governor Evers announced new efforts to provide assistance from the Wisconsin National Guard to support hospitals and nursing homes and address capacity issues. The Wisconsin National Guard is temporarily deploying 210 of its members to hospitals and nursing homes across the state.

Rocky Knoll has been working closely with the Department of Health Services since October and has been approved to receive 20 National Guard members starting February 21st. This support will allow us to admit more residents to Rocky Knoll, significantly increasing our current capacity on the short-term unit while this assistance is available. During these six to nine weeks, the National Guard members and agency staff will work as CNAs alongside our own staff.

While this is not a long-term solution, it will provide much needed staffing reinforcement and assistance to the hospitals who are dealing with overcapacity. We are grateful to be receiving this assistance and look forward to the breath of fresh air that these CNAs will bring. Please join us in giving a warm welcome to the Wisconsin National Guard.
