Mel was born a fifth generation baby on both sides of her family, knowing her great-great grandparents until she was seven years old. She has always had a soft spot and great respect for her elders. As an adult, Mel was compelled to enter the healthcare field when her maternal grandmother was diagnosed with cancer, and in 2008 she began working as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Rocky Knoll. After five years she moved on to other endeavors, which included caring for family members and managing two different assisted living facilities in the county. She finally fulfilled her goal of becoming a Registered Nurse in December of 2022, and she is excited to be part of the Rocky Knoll Nursing Leadership team in the role of Staff Development
Mel lives in Waldo with her husband Matt. They have two adult children, a son-in-law, and grandchildren who they adore. Additionally, she loves being present in her brother, sister-in-law, and nieces’ lives. Mel loves being in the company of good friends, golfing, gardening, and leisurely reading with a hot cup of tea. :)
