Krisy joined Rocky Knoll as a Social Services Assistant in November 2023. Krisy's interest in working with the elderly began at a young age assisting her mother, who is also a LPN, volunteering at different facilities throughout her childhood. Krisy was close to her grandmother and developed an in-depth understanding of the aging process, nursing practices and the elderly when she began as her caretaker.
In 2010, Krisy earned her bachelor's degree in sociology, with a minor in anthropology from UW-Stevens Point. A childhood interest of Krisy's was to be an archaeologist, so she furthered her education by entering a masters program at UW-Milwaukee. Krisy completed multiple study abroad experiences including primatology, faunal analysis, and archaeology in Belize, Guatemala, Peru and South Africa.
Krisy returned to her roots and decided to pursue nursing. She began her career as a CNA, working in a hospital setting and then earning her license as a practical nurse in 2020. While working in different areas of skilled nursing, including memory care, Krisy decided to merge her experiences as an LPN with her Sociology degree and take on the role of Social Services Assistant at Rocky Knoll.
In her free time, Krisy enjoys gardening, tending to her houseplants, camping, kayaking, antiquing, spending time with friends, family, and her three cats.
